These are my lithography, Juggle I and II. I made these last year. Using same plates, I printed with different colors as usual. I spent long time for drawing........ I am working on my woodcut since then, but when I look at my lithography, I would like to draw on a plate. I hope this year I can make some lithography while studying woodcut.

去年のリトグラフの作品です。同じプレートを使い違う色で刷りました。描写に時間をかけた記憶が。。。今回は、初めに右の黒い絵を作っていました。すると、パステル系を得意とする私に、「この渋い色で大丈夫か。。。」と自問自答するようになりました。そこで、左の作品を急遽作り始めたのです。それぞれの部分で好きな所、反省すべき所があります。ただ、自分を裏切るような色で制作すると得るものも多いですね。

これから、木版の作品を作っていますが、自分のリトグラフを見ていると、アルミのプレートに描写したくなります。今年は、木版も勉強しつつ、何作かリトの作品も作れたらいいな、と思います。

Human Monkeys

I like stuffed toys. When I was a little, I used to collect stuffed rabbits or bears. They are very cute, however, when I was 8 or 9, my aunt gave me a stuffed monkey. The monkey made a huge impact on me and since then,  I've loved monkeys so much.

The group exhibition, I wanted to be playful. At home, I had nice fabric, materials and a new sewing machine. (I bought it for my husband as a christmas gift!) So, it was not too difficult to start  making these little monkeys even though I hate to sew.

I call them as "Human Monkeys" because I like to put soul into them. Each one has own personality. Then I like to make some story or drama.... like some of them complained that they wanted to be the rich or poor so that they can get more attention.

第４回マスだ！展

今年第一弾は「第４回マスだ！展」です。
“升”を使用し、自由に制作するグループ展。初参加なのでドキドキです。
普段は油絵、版画を主に制作している私に何が出来るのでしょうか。。。と考えつつ明日は搬入日です。制作しているとき、ふと学生時代に課題に追われていた事を思い出しました。その癖は、未だ直ること無く常に搬入日直前（もしくは当日）までアタフタしてしまう。。。今年こそは、その負担を無くしたいと思っております。
今回は、ひたすら「自分の好きな物」をアピール、そしてそれを使ってちょっと風刺的に「society」を表現。普段は自分の作品に社会へのメッセージは無いのですが、数年に１回くらい表現したくなるようです。と、私の思いはこのへんで、観て下さった方に「何だこれ？」くらい思って笑って頂ければ幸いと思います。

I am in the group exhibition, "The 4th Masuda-ten".
This exhibition we need to use "wood boxes(usually for Sake)" as a campus and create own work! This is my first time so I am little nervous. I usually make prints or paintings so I was wondering what I can do for this exhibition.... Anyway tomorrow I have to take my work to the gallery!
This time, I made things I really like and using that I try to represent about "society". Even though it is not too serious,  Once in awhile, I just want to make political work.

セーラー服黙示録 Schoolgirl Apocalypse

I am a huge fun of horror films. When I watch horror films, I am usually amazed by the creative ideas, special make-up and the atmospheric feeling. And, I prefer good story behind the film. 

A few years ago, I was part of making a monster design of the film, Schoolgirl Apocalypse. If you want to watch a super scary film, then, this is not for you. However, If you are looking for something NEW and CREATIVE, I strongly recommend this. I would say this is an Art-Horror film and better to watch more than once. If so, you are able to get the sense of the director's purpose. I must say I've never watched something like this and I promise it leads to a whole new genre!!  It was my first time to participate in the design but I had a good experience. I would be happy to do again!

私は、ホラー映画の大ファンです。理由といえばその映画の創造性、特殊メイク、ドキドキ感を体験出来るなどたくさんありますが、ストーリーを大事にしたものを好みます。

数年前、初めてモンスターデザインをしてみました。その映画はセーラー服黙示録と言って日本での公開はまだですが海外の映画祭にいくつか出品されています。この映画はホラーの割にはそんなに怖くないのですが、なにしろ創造的であり新鮮です。どちらかとアートホラー的な感じです。一度よりニ度三度と観た方がよりこの監督の意図を汲み取れるような気がします。とにかく、こんな映画観た事無い上、新しいジャンルを開拓したような気がしてなりません。

自分のイメージや版画とは全く関係ないモンスターデザイン。。。色々思う所はありますが、とても良い経験となりました！

PRINTSAURUS/プリントザウルス

I am in the group exhibition, Printsaurus.

The 57th CWAJ Print Show

I was in a juried exhibition in Oct. It was a well-organized show, and you would have been surprised by a huge variety of prints. My print is lithograph and I would like to put the photo, however, I haven't taken yet. Fortunately, if you go to the site, you can see my image here.

I know they weren't talking about my work but their behind, my ovals are spinning! I was very surprised when I found this image out and also so glad. Now I am working on my woodcut but I hope to make more lithographs, too.

10月に開催されたグループ展に作品が飾られていました。この展覧会はよく組織化され、またそのバライティに富んだ作品のに驚かされます。私はリトグラフを出し、その作品の写真をここで紹介出来たら良いのですがまだ写真を撮っていません。ですが、こちらのサイトへ行って頂ければ私の作品が見れます。

この写真の人達は私の作品について話している訳ではないのは百も承知ですが、この方たちの後ろで私の楕円は回転しています。この写真を見つけたとき、驚きつつもとっても嬉しかったです。 現在、木版画に取り組んでいますがもっとリトグラフを制作するのもいいかな、と思っています。

Picnic

I should have put this image before gala-x-sea and others since I made "picnic" before "gala-x-sea". I like this image because it reminds me cherry blossoms, a brisk sky and Spring. It is actually the image for my business card.　If you would like to use one of my images, please send me a e-mail!

After I made gala-x-sea and sky, I created these two. People who has known my work for years did say my art changed a lot. I think specially these two have strong color compare to my old prints. When I see this image, I feel I should try to make a print using just Black. Someday I will cake it.....!

gala-x-sea(upper) & gala-x-sky

I made these two prints last year. These are for my solo exhibition, and especially I used the blue image for my postcard. I wanted to use "black ink" for a layer since I always avoid the color. I used to think Black for my print is too strong and it would destroy my subtle layer. I believe my work has atmospheric quality and tissue of color would make this atmosphere. I knew Black is the most strong and powerful color so that it wouldn't work for my print but I also didn't know how to use Black onto my work. However, when I worked this print, I pushed myself to a different direction; using dark colors. First, I printed with raw umber. I always like my first color but unfortunately for this time, I had no idea what I was doing. So I quickly printed with light blue using a same plate onto new papers. (That's how I started to make two images.) Even though I didn't have any confident for my new direction, I had to do it because the show was coming. I was thinking which color would be good with raw umber.... and then, "It is Black!!". I printed with Black and I still didn't feel good, however, the third color, cobalt blue, really worked. I think this three colors complement each other. I also like to see both images(slightly different, though). It is a good research and it actually leads to other prints.

GALERIE SIMON／ギャルリー志門

Some of my pieces will be presented in "When Earth Becomes Moon". It is a group exhibition and the gallery chose 4 artists who are all women. I was so glad when I received an e-mail to participate the show. However I hadn't have made any new prints by the time, I forced myself to make prints for two months.

私の版画数点が「地球が月になるとき」に飾られます。この展覧会は、画廊が選ぶ若手女性作家４人のグループ展です。画廊の方からメールを頂いた時とても嬉しかったのですが、新作が全くなく必死の思いで約二ヶ月、制作して参りました。去年、今年の新作約５、６点、是非見に来て頂けたら光栄です。
